Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup gluten-free soy sauce or tamari
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
Add honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger to a small saucepan
Then add soy sauce or tamari
Over medium-low heat, stir the mixture a few times to make it simmer
Once it starts to simmer, slowly add the cornstarch or arrowroot powder mixture while stirring all the time to keep the mixture from getting lumpy
Keep cooking and stirring the sauce for another two to three minutes, or until it reaches the consistency you want
Take the pan off the heat and let the teriyaki sauce cool down a bit before you use it
You can use it right away or put it in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week
