Quiche with Hashbrown Crust

This Quiche with Hashbrown Crust is a delicious twist on the classic quiche. The crispy hashbrown crust adds a delightful texture to the creamy, cheesy filling. Its perfect for brunch or a light dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded hashbrowns
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375F 190C

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded hashbrowns and melted butter

Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9-inch 23 cm pie dish to create the crust

Bake the hashbrown crust in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until its golden brown and crispy

While the crust is baking, scatter the grated Gruyere cheese, diced ham, and chopped green onions evenly over the partially baked crust

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and ground nutmeg

Pour the egg mixture over the cheese, ham, and green onions in the pie dish

Bake the quiche in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown

Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing

Serve the quiche with hashbrown crust warm, and enjoy
